Vestemi is a new technology product company with a social purpose. Founded in 2018, our vision is to create simple, effective consumer products that make energy savings easy and accessible to everyone. We believe that empowering our customers through the use of technology is the most effective way to sustain lasting action on climate change.
Inspired by the need to do something about the amount of heat wasted in the domestic energy sector and by the lack of action by Government and heating control manufacturers, co-founders Damon Hart-Davis and Mark Hill set out to design a simple yet effective heating control system that could be adopted at scale and move the needle on climate change.

A Government review highlights as much as 50% of space heating in the UK is being wasted – equivalent to £5bn in domestic gas bills annually.
2013 OpenTRV Project created
Inspired by a Government workshop on the role of smart heating controls, co-founder Damon Hart-Davis creates the OpenTRV open source project with the aim of bringing together the brightest and the best to address this problem.
2014 Making it a reality
Committed to moving the needle on climate change, co-founders Damon Hart-Davis and Mark Hill join forces and founded OpenTRV, the company, with the aim of designing, testing and bringing to market a smart heating control device that will significantly improve space heating efficiency.
2015 Radbot is born
The first Radbot prototype is produced and trialled extensively in UK homes. Results are very encouraging, demonstrating savings of 30% are achievable with no impact on comfort.
